Inspired by a cute little poem on "someone's" blog, I'm going to try to provide some "catch up" news for anyone interested. Or maybe you're not even interested, maybe you're just continuing to link on and read some blogs to avoid doing chores or going outside in this miserable heat. Not that I would know about avoiding housework or anything. :-)
I'll try to avoid having this sound like a Christmas update letter (and I should also try to avoid using the word "avoid" so much), but I'm just going to get started...
Life for me is going well. Work is good, personal life is great! Currently, I'm cross training at work, which I enjoy. I like learning new things! I am thankful every day for the blessings in my life. I'm still dating a wonderful man who puts a smile on my face and a flutter in my heart. I know, it sounds corny -- but I've waited all my life for this and I don't take it for granted!
Kid #1 -- Graduated from college this spring with three majors...English, Art, and Chinese Studies. She and her husband just moved to the Metro (MN) area, so hopefully she will have more opportunities to find a job in one of the fields in which she's educated. (Suggestions, anyone?)
Kid #2 -- Working at an office supply store and keeping busy socially also. She has a steady boyfriend of almost a year. She turns 21 next weekend, and so far she hasn't invited me to spend the day with her. I told her I bought party hats and everything, but she still hasn't asked me to hang with her and her friends. I don't understand. I don't recall, but I'm certain that when I was her age, I would have always wanted my mom to be along. Who wouldn't? But of course, I tend to think I'm a lot cooler than my mom was. :)
Kid #3 -- Accelerated herself through the high school requirements so she will be heading off to college a year early. In less than two weeks, we will move her up to her new "home" about three and a half hours from here. Coincidentally, it's in Grand Forks where my oldest and her husband lived until a couple weeks ago. So we won't have that "emergency connection" locally like we were thinking, but she'll be okay. She is really looking forward to it, and right now plans to major in history and German. (To brag just a tad - she did receive a Presidential scholarship!)
So, life will be changing, but I am used to that. My house will be on the market soon, as there's no need to have this big house for just me. I'll move to a bigger town and a smaller place close to here. There's also a great possibility that my office may be moving to that town as well. so I will save a lot on gas and be closer to my honey!
That's it, in a nutshell. Nothing too exciting. I'm sure I'm leaving stuff out, but it's hard to remember everything from the past eight months or more! I'll try to have a more humorous or at least mildly entertaining entry next time. (Stay tuned -- it should be before Easter of 2011!)

2 pieces of people's minds:
Thanks for the update on you and the girls! I'm so happy that everything is going so well for you. Nobody deserves it more.
:-)
And hey, your mom was way cool.

And who wrote a cute poem? Sure is a good thing I got to see you recently so I did know that you were still alive! Don't wait so long to update next time!
